Architect with a passion for Data | Data Manager for Large Architecture firm | London

The role of Data Manager:

This role focuses on maintaining and developing the office information management database as well as maintaining office digital templates. You will provide guidance and implement software plugins and third party applications.  You will troubleshoot and resolve technical and software problems whilst liaising with internal and external IT and IT support staff, as well as supporting the internal IT team on software errors and debug. You will be responsible for information management duties across different departments.

What you need to know:
  • extensive knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Fx)
  • extensive knowledge of SharePoint and the 365 products ecosystem
  • proven experience in designing and deploying data pipelines and data model architecture
  • experience in designing computer code to continue the development and performance of the IMS
  • experience of agile principles and methodology
  • knowledge of common libraries for data engineering and transformation (i.e. Pandas, PySpark)
  • extensive knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio
  • extensive knowledge of Custom Revit API interface tools
  • extensive knowledge of SQL server
  • c# expertise/experience
  • knowledge of Power BIM
  • knowledge of Bluebeam Studio Administration would be an advantage
  • knowledge of Autodesk / Revit / ACC / BIM360 would be an advantage

Working alongside the in-house BIM team, the successful candidate will ideally come from an Architectural background and will have a thorough understanding of the digital deliverables of a large Architecture practice to current ISO standards.  Working with the BIM Team, you will also develop systems and processes to enhance the performance and efficiency of the office.

We have a wonderful opportunity for BIM Manager / Technical person with a strong interest in the development of BIM and adoption of new technology in the AEC sector.  Someone who is keen to increase the understanding of BIM process and understanding practical strategies to achieve this goal.  

As a key member of this International Architecture team you will provide strategic and project guidance on BIM and Digital processes.  Responsible for supporting a large number of projects with practice BIM requirements, across large scale practice projects.  

Your role will also assist with project requirements, integrating client and contractor BIM requirements, and advising on deliverables and risk mitigation for project leads.  You will also be responsible for reviewing Architectural appointments, clauses, the use of BIM / Information protocols and appointment particulars when relevant.

Key Areas:

  • Team player understanding the value of collective team experience to produce the best strategies and solutions.
  • Develop project BIM documentation.  BIM execution plan (BEP) and affiliated documents in response to client requirements.  
  • Supporting Senior Architects and Project Leads to understand the impact BIM requirements have on project scope, resourcing and delivery.  
  • Take active role in advising practice on BIM and Design BIM software.  
  • Assessing the skills and training need for effective architectural teams in the delivery of BIM.
  • Understanding of BS EN ISO 19650 series of documents and UK National annex.
