Design-Led Part II Architectural Assistant / Newly Qualified Architect

Central London
£32,000–£42,000 DOE
Permanent | Hybrid Working

Join a Highly Design-Led Architecture Practice

Our client is a small, highly respected design-led architecture studio based in Central London. With a team of approximately 10 people, the practice works across residential, mixed-use, commercial, co-living and heritage projects, delivering carefully crafted architecture with a strong emphasis on contextual design, materiality and timeless quality.

Working across all RIBA stages, the studio offers a rare opportunity to gain exposure from concept through to delivery whilst working closely alongside directors and senior architects in a collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

This position is ideally suited to either:

  • A design-led Part II Architectural Assistant with strong professional experience; or
  • A  design-led Newly Qualified Architect (Part III) with up to 2 years' post-qualification experience.

The practice is specifically seeking candidates with exceptional design sensibility and strong visual communication skills. Portfolio quality will be a key determining factor throughout the selection process.

Candidates should demonstrate a clear understanding of composition, presentation, layout, graphics and storytelling through their work. The studio is looking for individuals who are intentional in how they design, curate and present projects.

What We're Looking For

Essential
  • Design-led portfolio demonstrating strong architectural thinking and presentation skills
  • Excellent visual communication and graphic presentation abilities
  • Strong understanding of residential, mixed-use, commercial and/or heritage projects
  • Experience contributing to projects across multiple RIBA stages
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
  • Genuine interest in working within a small, design-focused practice environment
  • Advanced SketchUp skills
  • Strong V-Ray visualisation and rendering capability
  • Ability to produce high-quality architectural imagery and presentation material
  • Strong understanding of Photoshop and post-production workflows
Beneficial
  • Revit experience
  • MicroStation experience (training can be provided)
  • Understanding of UK Planning and Building Regulations
  • Experience across RIBA Stages 3–4

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to become a well-rounded architect whilst maintaining a strong design focus.

You will gain exposure across multiple sectors and all project stages, working closely with senior team members on both design and technical delivery. The role offers significant responsibility, mentorship and long-term development within a practice that values design quality at every stage of the process.

Benefits
  • Hybrid working
  • Annual pay reviews
  • Annual office trip and summer picnic
  • Quarterly architectural walking tours
  • Collaborative, close-knit studio culture
  • Long-term career development within a growing practice

Please note: This role is specifically aimed at highly design-led candidates. Applications will be assessed heavily on portfolio quality, visual communication skills and design ability. Candidates whose portfolios do not clearly demonstrate these strengths are unlikely to be considered.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
