What is your role:

As an experienced landscape graduate or recently chartered landscape architect, you will play a vital role in a diverse portfolio of projects, spanning various sectors. Showcase your creativity, attention to detail, and contribute to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Landscape Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs).

  • Prepare landscape design schemes, write reports, and project manage.
  • Manage production and deadlines for assigned work individually or as part of a team.
  • Undertake site inspections, boundary surveys, site appraisals, and data analysis.
  • Prepare Landscape Management Plans, Measured Works, Cost estimates, and other deliverables within RIBA stages 2-5.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated proposals.
  • Execute RIBA stages 5-6 work, including site auditing and reporting.
  • Conduct site meetings, planning meetings, public consultation meetings, and design team meetings.
  • Manage health and safety risk registers, derogations schedules, and auditing processes.
  • Perform other landscape architectural design duties as required.
  • Attend project-related meetings with clients. 

 

What makes you good at your job:

  • Minimum a degree or equivalent qualification in landscape design and a post graduate qualification or equivalent
  • A member of Landscape Institute or equivalent  - ideally chartered or planning to become chartered
  • Minimum 3 + years post-graduate experience
  • Good project, site and task management experience
  • Good landscape design experience / skills/ knowledge
  • Knowledge of RIBA stages and UK Planning Policy
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to engage confidently with clients and team members.
  • Outstanding graphic skills and proficiency in developing concepts through to detailed design using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong written communication, including report writing skills for the production of LVIAs across a wide range of public and private sector projects.
  • Experience with Revit software is desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A current UK driving license is desirable.

What is your role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to join our rapidly expanding, award-winning client based in Gateshead. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in LVIA’s, conservation, and historic restoration. Successful applicants will play a key role in the entire development process of the planning and design, taking on responsibilities such as project management, report writing, and close collaboration with the internal team and external consultants.

Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute to a variety of design projects spanning all stages of planning, design, and implementation. Our clients diverse portfolio encompasses projects in urban regeneration, historic landscape restoration, healthcare, play, landscape and visual assessment, and master-planning.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee production and timely delivery of assigned work, managing both individual and team responsibilities.
  • Handle project inception, quoting, briefing, and deadline delivery, allocating tasks, and tracking progress for departmental projects.
  • Conduct on-site data gathering, prepare plans and reports, ensuring compliance with RIBA work stage requirements and completing QA processes.
  • Provide reports, progress updates, and advice to clients, conducting site visits, surveys, and various meetings.
  • Manage health and safety processes, including risk registers and audits, and contribute to related reports.
  • Prepare landscape management plans, masterplans, concept plans, and various design documents.
  • Produce construction details, specifications, and schedules, as well as quantity and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site audits, snagging, and reporting, ensuring compliance with QA processes before work issuance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, considering ecological and arboricultural factors in proposals.
