About the Role:

 

As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of innovative landscape architecture services across various sectors, including private estates, residential developments, corporate headquarters, and public parks. You will be part of a collaborative team, contributing to the production of high-quality designs from concept to delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects across multiple sectors
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD software
  • Work closely with the team to ensure the successful execution of projects
  • Collaborate with specialists, including engineers and ecologists, to deliver exceptional designs

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician
  • Strong CAD skills (Vectorworks and/or Revit preferred, but not essential)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects
  • Collaborate with specialists, including Arboriculturalists, Ecologists, and Engineers, to ensure the success of each project
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and client relationships
  • Produce high-quality drawings, reports, and presentations
  • Support and mentor junior team members

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Chartered Landscape Architect
  • Experience across a range of sectors, including residential, public, and corporate projects
  • Strong CAD skills (Vectorworks and / or Revit preferred, but not essential) and Adobe Suite
  • Excellent communication, design, and written skills
  • Passion for landscape architecture and sustainable design

What is your role:

As an experienced landscape graduate or recently chartered landscape architect, you will play a vital role in a diverse portfolio of projects, spanning various sectors. Showcase your creativity, attention to detail, and contribute to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Landscape Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs).

  • Prepare landscape design schemes, write reports, and project manage.
  • Manage production and deadlines for assigned work individually or as part of a team.
  • Undertake site inspections, boundary surveys, site appraisals, and data analysis.
  • Prepare Landscape Management Plans, Measured Works, Cost estimates, and other deliverables within RIBA stages 2-5.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated proposals.
  • Execute RIBA stages 5-6 work, including site auditing and reporting.
  • Conduct site meetings, planning meetings, public consultation meetings, and design team meetings.
  • Manage health and safety risk registers, derogations schedules, and auditing processes.
  • Perform other landscape architectural design duties as required.
  • Attend project-related meetings with clients. 

 

What makes you good at your job:

  • Minimum a degree or equivalent qualification in landscape design and a post graduate qualification or equivalent
  • A member of Landscape Institute or equivalent  - ideally chartered or planning to become chartered
  • Minimum 3 + years post-graduate experience
  • Good project, site and task management experience
  • Good landscape design experience / skills/ knowledge
  • Knowledge of RIBA stages and UK Planning Policy
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to engage confidently with clients and team members.
  • Outstanding graphic skills and proficiency in developing concepts through to detailed design using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong written communication, including report writing skills for the production of LVIAs across a wide range of public and private sector projects.
  • Experience with Revit software is desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A current UK driving license is desirable.
