The Company:

Our client is seeking an Architectural Technician to join their growing team on a permanent basis. As a respected architectural studio, they are led by four accomplished directors and supported by a dedicated team of 20 professionals. With 35 years of experience in the field and a unique status as an Employee Owned Trust, they have established themselves as a reputable architectural firm located a short walk from Guildford station.

 

Summary of Role:

This opportunity provides valuable hands-on experience, collaborating closely with a Senior Technician or Technologist, encompassing tasks such as site visits, contributing to technical drawings and surveys, and more. Any previous experience in developing comprehensive packages would be greatly advantageous. Your primary areas of focus will be within the residential and education sectors, making prior expertise in these domains especially beneficial.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team on UK large-scale residential, education, healthcare and masterplan projects
  • Generate architectural solutions and develop technical detailing
  • Drafting responsibilities predominantly focusing on RIBA stage 3-4
  • Show your commitment and develop yourself professionally within the practice.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit extensively on a daily basis  

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • a BTEC level 3, HNC, or HND qualification in construction
  • 2-3 years of relevant UK experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, along with a grasp of the design workflow
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to produce detailed drawings
  • A good understanding of UK building regulations
  • Able to take instruction well and use your own initiative when required
  • Comfortable assisting the team on projects and working on detailed drawings
  • Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Embrace a flexible and open mindset when tackling problem-solving tasks
