Summary of Role:

We are looking for candidates with experience in delivery of large complex projects with advanced BIM/Revit skills and experience in Education and Healthcare project. Suitable candidates should have significant previous experience of working on large scale UK projects and experience of working on projects at stage 3 onwards, with advanced knowledge of technical aspects of construction. You are required to have excellent knowledge of Revit

Summary of Role:

Due to a significant increase in their workload, our client is expanding operations at their newly established Stevenage studio. They are currently seeking a Project Technologist to join their dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will be running medium to large-scale projects from stage 3 onwards, with a preference for candidates experienced in residential and/or educational sector projects. Leadership skills are essential, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients and consultants.

This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious Project Technologist to join an established and thriving practice at their new studio, and become a key part of its growth into the future.

Ideal Candidate:

You will work directly with the studio’s Associate Director and a team of project architects – collating, organising, investigating and producing technical information for use during the development of the project design.

The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and have a background in working within a 3D environment, with proficiency in clash detection and coordination, as well as be an experienced user of Archicad.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

Working directly with the Project Architect to undertake the following:

  • Collate and organise technical information
  • Investigate technical information and factors that affect projects - including client requirements, site/building surveys and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce all information necessary to submit applications to all relevant statutory authorities.
  • Prepare and present design proposals.   

PREPARING DETAIL DESIGN AND PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Acting as Project Leader to undertake the following:

  • Liaise with Clients.
  • Work in conjunction with the Contractor for Design & Build projects
  • Prepare and present detailed design proposals
  • Advise the programming of deliverables
  • Manage the internal team
  • Act as Design Leader in co-ordinating the wider design team
  • Contribute to the detailed design process and co-ordinate detailed design information
  • Review the Acoustic, Fire, and other strategy reports and incorporate the strategies into the detail design package
  • Prepare specifications for construction work
  • Prepare drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals
  • Attend Design Team Meetings and Co-ordination meetings, record minutes and prepare any associated documentation
  • Contribute to design-stage risk assessments   

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT/CONSTRUCTION ON SITE

Acting as Project Leader, undertake the following:

  • Make site visits and record findings of site inspections
  • Respond to site queries and Requests for Information.

  • Attend Design Team Meetings and Co-ordination meetings, record minutes and prepare any associated documentation

  

POST CONSTRUCTION

What is your role:

You will typically work on a major client account, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (both inside and outside the organisation), and managing a project team. Most of the projects are in the commercial sectors, such as data centres, logistics, offices, retail, and hospitality.

A large proportion of their work is based outside the UK so travel opportunities are available for those wishing to experience working on projects somewhere new. This is an executive practice and you will need to have strong technical experience stages 3 onwards.

 

What makes you good at your job:

  • You have a minimum of at least 2-3 years UK post qualification experience, preferably across all project work stages in a relevant sector
  • Ideally you will have experience working on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and or Hospitals.
  • You are a RIBA, ARB or equivalent registered Architect with experience and a good understanding of UK, US or EU permitting and construction
  • A strong track-record of delivering projects through RIBA Stages 4, 5 and 6
  • You are able to demonstrate a high level of technical detailing skill
  • You have strong design skills and technical knowledge.
  • You have solid working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Being a fluent speaker of French of German would be a great advantage.
