The firm, comprising 23 employees, is involved in various scales of projects across different industries. Unlike most architectural firms, they specialize in both design and technical aspects of architecture, handling everything in-house from masterplanning and drawing to virtual reality design and implementation. Their innovative approach and involvement in large, complex schemes provide ample growth opportunities for all staff members.

 

Summary of Role:

We are seeking Architects and Technologists with over 5 years of experience, including those who are experienced job runners or aspiring to take on such roles, ideally with project experience exceeding £5m in scale. Our client is currently focused on large-scale new build residential projects, extensive listed building refurbishments (both residential and commercial), industrial projects, and re-cladding initiatives.

The role requires managing workload and resources efficiently, mentoring junior staff (Part I, Part II, etc.), and fostering a collaborative environment within the Practice. Effective client, contractor, and consultant interaction will be essential, necessitating exceptional communication and professionalism.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • RIBA Part III or CIAT qualified with minimum 4-5 years PQE
  • Essential Revit proficiency
  • Experience working across technical stages of projects
  • Demonstrable experience of leading projects from feasibility through planning and to delivery
  • Strong design, technical, graphic and 3D modelling skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent understanding of current UK Planning and Building Regulations
  • Experience of running design and technical review
  • Ability to plan and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

We are especially keen to connect with architects who have around 2 to 4 years of experience following their Part III qualification, along with a background in UK conservation/heritage projects.

The Role

  • As an architect or technologist at the practice, you’ll typically be engaged on a major client account, working with a range of stakeholders (both in and outside the business), and managing a project team. Most of the projects are in the commercial sectors of data centres, logistics, and warehouse projects.
  • A large proportion of the work is based both in the UK and outside of UK making travel opportunities available for those wishing to experience working on projects somewhere new.
  • This role would suit a recently qualified architect, but applications are also welcomed from other relevant professional backgrounds, including architectural technologists and designers.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience, preferably across all project work stages in a relevant sectors
  • A good understanding of UK or EU permitting and construction
  • Strong design skills and technical knowledge
  • Solid working knowledge of REVIT
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent team working skills and a positive, pro-active attitude
  • Great organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet dead lines
  • Fluent in written and spoken English     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RIBA / ARB or ACIAT / CIAT qualified
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in large-scale Data Centre, Warehouse, Logistics, or similar large-scale facility design

Having won numerous awards for both design and delivery, they are now in need of a talented REVIT Technician / Architect with 3-5 year's work experience.

Role and key tasks:

  • Produce detailed technical information for tender packages and construction documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Working on Internal projects to assist with the delivery for RIBA Stages 3-5.
  • Develop and refine Revit models aligned with my clients industry BIM Standards.
  • Engage and collaborate with external consultants and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. This includes regular site visits, meetings, and communication to address any technical or design issues.
  • Develop and refine architectural designs, ensuring they meet client's specifications and regulatory requirements. Provide creative solutions to design challenges.
  • Utilise advanced Revit skills to produce high-quality architectural & interior drawing packs.
  • Attend BIM coordination meetings; enforcement of BEP across the project.
  • Contribute on the improvement of BIM workflows and the development of company’s BIM frameworks and Revit libraries.
  • Assist team with PIM authoring, federation and coordination, clash detection, product data creation and mining.
  • Keep up to date with the latest innovation in the BIM world and suggested best practice methods.
  • Manage BIM coordination issues and engage with the design teams for resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Architecture and/or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of BIM Level 2 frameworks.
  • Experience as Revit Architect / BIM coordination, familiar with RIBA stages 3 -5.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working as BIM Technician.
  • Advanced experience and competence in Revit authoring and collaboration between Revit & Navisworks Manage.

Summary of Role:

This role is unique, presenting an opportunity for career advancement within the company with the potential to evolve into an Associate position in the future. You will be working full time on Data Centre Projects in all design stages all over Europe. Previous experience in Data Centre work would be a great advantage, however training can be provided for candidates who can demonstrate capability of running multi-disciplinary international design teams. Your main focus will be master planning Data Centre sites across Europe and working with a European design team. Although full project involvement is required the majority of work will be across Riba stages A to D.

Ideal Candidate:

  • You should be a Project Leader / Architect who has the future intention of stepping into an Associate Role
  • You should have at least 3 years post qualified experience
  • You are independent and resourceful, able to report on team work to an Associate Director.
  • You are an RIBA / ARB member
  • Particular experience needs to be mostly / very strong in RIBA stages A to D more than in stages E to F
  • You should have at least 3 years Revit / BIM
  • Must demonstrate ability and experience in the lead designer role managing the full design team.

Desirable:
  • Experience in the design and co-ordination of complex tender packages for fit-outs and complex M&E led projects.
  • Experience in checking technical submissions.
  • Track record on working with Client Design Standards.
  • Leading and managing multinational multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Current Passport and have the ability to travel freely in Europe without Visa. Must be willing to do overseas site meetings within Europe twice monthly when required by programme.
  • Revit / BIM on complex models. Clash detection / Navis works an advantage. Must have worked on fully integrated / federated models from a large multi-disciplinary team.
