The Role:

We are currently looking for an exceptionally creative, ambitious and collaborative Part II Architectural Assistant to join a highly talented, growing team in Central London.

As an Architectural Assistant, your main responsibility will be to create and improve drawings with a keen sense of design. You'll also be responsible for producing models, images, and other documents related to both design and technical aspects, primarily for residential projects across all RIBA stages.

Working on a variety of stimulating projects, including new-build, retrofit, extensions, and additions to buildings in sensitive or heritage contexts; from domestic to large-scale residential and mixed-use work. Their main focus is always on creating top-notch designs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience at the Part I level within a UK architectural studio, or design-oriented practice.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD software and excellent command of Sketchup and V-ray.
  • Producing exceptional visuals and illustrations with post-production editing skills
  • Proficiency in teamwork, combined with the capacity to work independently with time management skills.
  • A functional understanding of the UK planning system.
  • Prior project involvement spanning RIBA Stages 0 to 2 is a bonus

What is your role:

Join a dynamic and award-winning team as they embark on large-scale residential and commercial development projects, including mixed-use masterplans. With a track record of successfully completing significant projects both in the Middle East and London, they are now seeking talented and ambitious architects and architectural assistants to become integral members of their growing team.

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of project types, sizes, and phases. You'll be exposed to diverse architectural challenges and have the chance to actively contribute to the expansion of the firm's impressive portfolio working from concept to completion.

 

Your responsibilities may include:

  • responsibility for the design at all stages and construction packages
  • preparing, developing and editing, drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design
  • coordinating with the design team to establish and develop building type, style, cost etc.
  • coordinating with and reviewing information from the wider design team, engineers, consultants, contractors and client bodies.
  • preparing design presentations
  • construction documentation including detailing, schedules and specifications
  • corresponding with contractors and reviewing shop-drawings and submittals
  • monitor construction work in progress to ensure compliance with the design

 

 Candidates should:

  • have excellent creative design capabilities, demonstrated by a portfolio
  • have excellent graphic, communication and organisational skills
  • have previous professional experience in an architectural firm undertaking the responsibilities above
  • demonstrate their experience in all stages of design and construction administration
  • have good interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with and support your design team
  • be proactive, work efficiently and systematically with the design team within an energetic and fast paced environment to meet project demands
  • have a high sense of responsibility, and a flexible open attitude towards new ways of working and ability to handle multiple roles within a growing office
  • have 2D and 3D software knowledge including Revit, Microstation (and/or AutoCAD), Rhino, 3D studio Max, Photoshop and InDesign
  • be eligible to work in the UK

The Client:

We are hiring Part 3 Architects and Part 2 Architectural Assistants to join a growing team of young, but experienced and enthusiastic Designers, Architects, and Engineers in London. This is an opportunity to work on a number of exciting masterplan developments and large projects that are just about to commence across residential, commercial and urban design that promises full involvement across the project life cycles. You will be joining a small practice working with a close nit team of circa. 7 offering a chance to work on large scale projects, working closely with it's sister companies in Engineering, Developers, Consultants and F-Line Designs.

 

Summary of Role:

The practice has a series of exciting projects currently within the UK, working within the commercial, residential, and community sectors and are also currently in communication with companies in Europe regarding innovative and sustainable designs. The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ UK projects experience, have worked across all RIBA stages of large-scale complex projects with great Revit skills.

 

You will be leading and developing projects and packages from early concept through design and technical development, preparing drawings, specifications and construction documents. You will be a great communicator who enjoys liaising with teams and clients and have an interest and commitment to developing the practice outlook and culture as they grow.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, with demonstrable verbal and written communications skills
  • Minimum of four years in UK practice
  • Experience with development projects
  • Interested in the sustainability of buildings, innovative with design
  • Architects must be registered with ARB (RIBA is also desired)
  • Excellent Revit skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp/Rhino, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent design, detailing and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and all RIBA work stages
  • Strong knowledge of London planning policies
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of current construction methods
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, excellent timekeeping skills

Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of two to three years’ practice experience working across all RIBA stages
  • A strong design ability including experience of detail / technical design and delivery
  • Excellent graphic skills and 3D design ability.
  • Excellent experience using Vectorworks and Microstation or Ecosim
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, be confident, approachable and a strong team player

  • Will most likely have worked in a small to medium sized with experience of working on UK Rail Sector and Education sectors.
