What is your role:
Our client is currently seeking a Head of Sustainability to define and lead the overall sustainability strategy and process.
You will help define the practice's goals on carbon reduction and environmentally responsible design methods whilst minimising the impact of projects on Climate Change. This role will involve working closely with the Senior Management and Project Teams to implement and operate relevant sustainability software to projects in the office which include Operational Carbon, Climate, Solar, Microclimate, Parametric generation of massing based on environmental drivers and Embodied Carbon.
What makes you good at your job:
- Practical knowledge and experience of the construction industry, RIBA plan of work, Building Regulations and process essential.
- Architectural background desirable but not essential.
- Understand qualifications within sustainability such as BREAAM, LEED, Building Regulations Part L, WELL, SKA, CEEQUAL or NABERS highly desirable.
- Technical knowledge of sustainable materials and responsible sourcing essential
- UK and international laws and regulations essential.
- Understanding sustainability issues facing the UK and international design and construction industries.
- You should be familiar in using Revit plugins and tool kits for projects to make decisions.

- As part of Projects Work with the Technical Leads you will advise and guide clients on achieving sustainability throughout the decision-making process
- You will motivate and up-skill other employees to engage with and become sustainability advocates to understand best practice
- You will share knowledge with the wider industry to inspire, enable change and improve overall contribution to sustainability and regenerative design.
- You will develop lessons learnt tools, POE methodology, project tool-kits and the introduction of regular sustainability reviews of project.
