About the Role:
Our client, an established, award-winning international architecture studio with a strong presence in London and the Middle East, known for delivering high-specification commercial, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use developments, are seeking a confident and detail-oriented Senior Architect to join their London team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on project delivery experience, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across all RIBA project stages. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to senior management, with oversight of the overall design vision and team mentoring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from concept through to completion, with a focus on technical design, statutory compliance, and execution quality.
- Develop and review detailed drawing packages, ensuring alignment with UK codes, local authority standards, and client requirements.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, delegate tasks, and coordinate across internal teams and external consultants.
- Organise and lead design meetings, manage actions, and ensure integration of all sub-consultant information.
- Enforce internal QA/QC processes, drafting standards, and ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and audit-ready.
- Monitor progress against deadlines, maintain resource planning tools, and report risks or slippage to senior leadership.
- Provide post-contract input including drawing issue coordination, contractor queries, and site-specific technical reviews.
- Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, keeping accurate written records, minutes, and correspondence.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years experience in architectural practice, with at least 5 years working on UK-based projects. International experience is welcomed but UK projects preferred
- ARB-registered Architect with extensive delivery experience on complex, multi-sector developments. Architectural Designers (overseas qualified) with relevant experience will be considered.
- Preferably with a background in multi-residential design and delivery, particularly within the UK context, but open to hospitality, commercial & large-Scale experience.
- Strong technical capabilities and confident in overseeing detailed design and construction packages.
- Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience setting up workflows, reviewing outputs, and guiding teams in a BIM-led environment.
- Proven ability to lead projects from early design through to completion, coordinating teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations, codes, and planning requirements.
- Self-starter who can integrate quickly into the team and begin contributing from day one.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client, consultant, and contractor relationships confidently.
- Highly organised, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
