About the Role

Our client is an employee-owned architecture practice and certified B Corp, established for over 70 years and now one of the UK's largest, with 300+ specialists working across architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, urban design, town planning and graphic design from a network of UK studios.

We are looking for an all-rounded Senior Architect with experience across a variety of sectors, with essential experience in refurbishment and retrofit — ideally on heritage buildings — and desirable experience in education or healthcare projects.

This is a permanent role within a growing London studio, with genuine scope to lead design and delivery on complex, high-value schemes from concept through to completion, while also developing junior talent within the studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery on complex projects across a variety of sectors
  • Take a project brief and develop initial proposals through to detailed design
  • Manage client relationships, including presentations and stakeholder engagement
  • Coordinate the design team and associated professional consultants
  • Manage fees, invoicing and financial performance on live projects
  • Contribute to new business development and practice profile

Key Requirements

  • Educated to RIBA Part 3 level (or equivalent), with considerable post-qualification experience
  • Proven track record leading projects in the £5m–£20m range
  • Essential: refurbishment/retrofit experience, ideally on heritage or listed buildings
  • Strong design leadership across all RIBA stages, including technical delivery and site coordination
  • Working knowledge of Revit; Level 2 BIM experience
  • Ability to balance multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent drawing, presentation and client-facing communication skills
  • Desirable: schools, further/higher education, or healthcare sector experience

Why Join?

Our client offers a genuinely flexible, purpose-led working environment with a strong emphasis on long-term career growth.

  • Part-time (min. 80% FTE) or full-time hours available
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Modern studio environment in a strong central location
  • Friendly, open and collaborative culture
  • Future opportunity for employee share ownership
