About the Role:
Our client is a long-established, internationally recognised architectural practice with a specialist focus on large-scale public infrastructure and transport-led developments. With a studio in Central London, they operate across the UK, Ireland, and the Middle East, delivering complex and high-value projects in sectors including aviation, rail, education, Life Sciences and workplace environments.
They are currently seeking a Senior Architect to take a leading role on upcoming high-profile UK and international infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a technically rigorous team shaping future-ready public spaces with a strong sustainability ethos.
The role will involve close collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors, taking ownership of technical delivery across all RIBA work stages, with a particular focus on coordination, compliance, and project control.
Hybrid working is offered, with a minimum of 2 days/week in-office required.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Design Control
- Lead architectural delivery across RIBA Stages 0–7
- Act as project lead for packages or full schemes, ensuring design intent and statutory requirements are met
- Coordinate technical information and input from structural, MEP, and specialist consultants
- Develop documentation for planning applications, building control, and tender submissions
- Oversee internal design reviews, ensuring technical compliance and quality standards
- Produce and maintain core documentation including project plans, schedules, and GA drawings
Commercial & Quality Management
- Support resourcing and fee tracking in line with project profitability goals
- Maintain a clear audit trail of key design decisions, risks, and client instructions
- Adhere to internal quality standards and participate in internal/external audits as required
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide direction and mentorship to architectural assistants and mid-level team members
- Define team structure, assign roles, and monitor task progress
- Work collaboratively with other team leads and contribute to resourcing and forecasting reports
- Participate in team development initiatives and maintain a proactive approach to CPD
Business Development
- Identify opportunities for future work through project/client relationships
- Contribute to bid preparation and marketing submissions as needed
Key Requirements:
- ARB-registered Architect or equivalent senior-level design professional
- Minimum 6–8 years’ experience, ideally with exposure to aviation, large-scale infrastructure, transport architecture or life sciences.
- Excellent working knowledge of RIBA work stages and UK building regulations
- Strong project delivery and technical design background
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and navigating approvals processes
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD essential; familiarity with BIM Level 2 workflows desirable
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Confident managing client relationships and participating in design reviews and site meetings
