About the Practice

Our client is a well-established architectural and design studio with a strong UK presence and a diverse portfolio across commercial, residential, education, and mixed-use developments. With multiple regional offices and over five decades of experience, the practice has built a reputation for delivering high-quality design and technically robust projects.

The London studio operates within a multi-disciplinary structure of architects, technologists, and interior designers, providing a supportive and collaborative environment. The team is known for combining creativity, technical precision, and strong professional development opportunities, underpinned by a people-focused culture.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join the London team. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on technical detail and enjoys leading projects through the delivery stages, coordinating across multiple disciplines, and ensuring design intent is translated accurately on site.

You’ll play a key role in managing projects across RIBA Stages 4–6, acting as a technical lead, supporting the wider design team, and contributing to the firm’s ongoing success through mentorship and delivery excellence.

This is a full-time, in-office role — perfect for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative studio environment. However, arrangements can be considered for those requiring flexibility, depending on project demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and delivery across RIBA Stages 4–6
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve programme and quality targets
  • Oversee the production of detailed Revit and AutoCAD drawings and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and other statutory standards
  • Act as Lead Designer / Principal Designer on projects, coordinating design information across teams
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to professional development and studio knowledge
  • Participate  in QA reviews, site inspections, and technical workshops

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or Architecture
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a UK-based practice
  • Strong technical knowledge with a focus on construction detailing and project delivery
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (essential)
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, design compliance, and risk management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure

Why Join

  • Work on diverse, design-led projects across multiple sectors
  • Supportive team culture with strong emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Comprehensive CPD and professional training programme
  • Competitive salary and benefits including:
    • Healthcare and wellbeing support
    • Employee Assistance Programme
    • Volunteer day and community initiatives
    • Regular team-building events and social calendar
  • Genuine opportunities for long-term career progression within a growing London team
