What is your role:
You will serve as an integral part of the ideas team that formulates a vision for net zero carbon design and how the practice responds to the climate emergency. Your role will involve helping the practice achieve its sustainability objectives, which include designing new homes to Passivhaus standards, retrofitting existing stock, and monitoring building performance. A big part of your role will be assisting with the Environmental Management Policy documentation to ensure that objectives and targets are met across projects and within the company.
What makes you good at your job:
- You are trained in architecture with some experience working in sustainability.
- You have a Master's degree in environmental or sustainable design
- You have an interest in learning and using appropriate modelling and technical software
- You are able to conduct data analysis
- You have a working knowledge of current regulations and standards related to environmental design.
- You have a understanding of leading sustainability initiatives, including RIBA 2030 Challenge and LETI
- You have excellent presentation and communication skills along with Adobe suite experienc
What the role includes:
- Promoting an environmental response to design through early strategic involvement
- Participation in the creation of net zero carbon strategies for clients and designers
- Calculating environmental pertinent to the design of buildings
- Assisting in design and project reviews, as well as reviews of buildings in-use, analysing data, and improving the feedback loop with design team
- Contributing to bids and winning work
- Assisting with BREEAM assessments
- Assisting with the championing of the practice sustainability design profile externally
- Producing guides and briefs across a range of environmental topics for use by staff
- Supporting the practice in fulfilling our RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge commitments
- Assisting with presentations and seminars to keep staff up-to-date and encourage sustainable
