The Role

You will be working as part of a dynamic architectural and surveying team, contributing to a range of commercial, residential, and educational projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting accurate measured building surveys
  • Preparing detailed drawings using AutoCAD
  • Producing and submitting Planning and Building Control applications
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and local authorities
  • Supporting the architectural team on design and technical matters

About You

  • Proven experience as an Architectural Technician within a consultancy or practice environment
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and confident producing high-quality technical drawings
  • Experience across various project sectors, ideally including commercial and residential schemes
  • BTEC ONC/HNC (minimum qualification) in a relevant discipline
  • CIAT membership advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The projects are all in Work Stage 5 and the practice is appointed by a Contractor to work with them coordinating the sub-contractor information in the REVIT models. It is very much a technical role on facades, subcontractor co-ordination and fit-out work.

REVIT is essential and experience must be on large scale projects with complex model structures.

To be successful you need to be able to demonstrate exceptionally good technical knowledge on previous projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with Associate Director and manage multi-disciplinary consultants and work autonomously.

What is your role:

As a Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist, your specialisation lies in applying building science and technology to architectural and construction projects. Your expertise allows you to effectively manage the design process and provide innovative solutions based on your technical knowledge and experience. In addition, you have a proven track record in negotiating and managing the development of construction projects. You excel in handling all aspects of architectural and construction contracts, be it traditional, partnering, design & build, or other methods. You also understand the importance of post-construction aspects, ensuring the successful completion of the project.

 

What the role includes:

  • Ensure that projects meet all relevant technical and professional standards on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Manage the delivery of architectural and multi-discipline work to meet and generally exceed clients’ expectations in terms of brief, service innovation, overall quality of work, value for money and delivery to planned timescales.
  • Efficiently manage the delivery of architectural and multidisciplinary work, consistently exceeding clients' expectations in terms of brief interpretation, service innovation, overall quality, value for money, and adherence to planned timelines.
  • Drive architectural teams to achieve continuous improvement in technical quality and innovation in all work produced
  • Manage individual Client’s workloads
  • Participate in and, as required, hold regular and formal team management meetings and actively participate in architectural team meetings.
  • Control and monitor work, to ensure clients’ briefs and delivery programmes are achieved
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding associated with RIBA works stages 

Project Delivery
  • Assessing the needs of clients and users and agreeing a project brief
  • Developing project briefs and design programmes;
  • Preparing and presenting design proposals using CAD techniques and traditional methods
  • Working within a team to produce the detailed design process and coordinating detailed design information
  • Assisting with the progression of the Group CAD systems.;

  

 Requirements
  • Experienced in CAD/REVIT capability in a recognised Industry Standard Format, including 3D graphics and presentation relevant basic software (training will be given as required).
  • Able to deliver projects to a minimum of BIM Level 2 standard.
  • An established skill of maintaining excellent client relationships, being competent in key client management as a tool towards developing future business
  • Suitable technical based qualifications, or equivalent by experience.
  • Working towards or registered with MCIAT, TCIAT or similar
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience or comparable work experience within the building / construction environment both off and on site.
  • A detailed understanding and thorough business knowledge of the Architectural field
